About me

My research interests are LGBTQ identities, sexualities and gender, intimate and domestic lives, and media representation.  My research is driven by a focus on qualitative methods.

My PhD (completed at the University of Sussex in the School of Media, Film and Music in 2016) explored the relationship which LGBTQ parents have to media representations of families like theirs and their experience forming and stabilising identity narratives in a media culture.

I am currently working on a research project which explores how bisexual people form and maintain intimate relationships within the wider context of 'biphobia' and bisexual marginalisation (in collaboration with Nikki Hayfield of UWE, and Christine Campbell at St Mary's University, Twickenham). The project is funded by the University of the West of England, Bristol. If you are interested in hearing more about this research please visit our website, or you can contact me via email to find out more.

Area of expertise
