About me
Tony Pipe (http://www.brl.ac.uk/) obtained his PhD qualification in 1997, became a Reader in 2006, and was a full Professor of Robotics and Autonomous Systems from 2010 to 2023. He is now an Emeritus Professor.
Area of expertise
Tony Pipe has 30 years of experience in carrying out research on ensuring safety of robot systems interacting in close-proximity to human beings. Application domains of interest are Connected Autonomous Vehicles (self-driving cars), healthcare robotics, robotics for nuclear decommissioning and smart-automation human-robot teamworking. He has co-authored over 200 international refereed publications, supervised 35 PhDs, and created a BRL income of >£12M since 2013.
