About me
An HCPC registered Diagnostic Radiographer since qualifying with the DCR(R) in 1991, I specialised in Paediatric Imaging at the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children rising to the post of Superintendent (2000). Upon the completion of a BSc(Hons) in Radiography at UWE (1996), I undertook post graduate studies in Imaging Reporting at Sheffield Hallam University being awarded an MSc in Medical Imaging. My dissertation examined areas of service that diagnostic radiographers can improve in the imaging of Non-Accidental Injury patients. I joined UWE in 2011 and now lead a successful portfolio of well-attended courses/study days. The focus of these projects involve image interpretation/reporting and paediatric imaging. In 2009, I was invited by the Society and College of Radiographers (SCoR) to give the William Stripp Memoral Lecture at the United Kingdom Radiology Congress on Osteogenesis Imperfecta and the Radiographer - Past, Present and Future. I am a member of the Association of Paediatric Radiographers (APR) and Childrens Imaging Taskforce and have been consulted by the SCoR on various paediatric imaging and management issues. I have contributed to the image interpretation/clinical imaging sections within the e-Learning for Health project and am currently a member of the editorial board for Imaging and Therapy in Practice.
