About me

My research is focused on the dynamic relationship between the law and society. My particular interests include 18th and 19th century criminal justice and criminal justice heritage, the English Magistracy, social protest, and regional government. As a collaborative practitioner I work with heritage organisations and external partners to engage public audiences with historic research in ways that are meaningful in the present.
