About me

I am a Molecular Neuroscientist with a keen interest in the interaction between nutrient supply and neuronal health. It is becoming increasingly clear that our diet and lifestyle profoundly affects the functioning of our brains and nervous systems. As an example, Type-2 Diabetes has recently been identified as the single most significant, non-genetic, risk factor for developing Alzheimer's Disease, however the reason for this is unclear. My research focusses on the link between what we eat and the heath of  the billions of the neurones that make up our brains.

Area of expertise

Molecular Neuroscience, Type-2 Diabetes, Cell Biology and Biochemistry
