About me

I was appointed part-time Senior Lecturer in Psychology at UWE in February 2014 having been a Visiting Lecturer since 2009. I am a Chartered and Registered Occupational Psychologistan Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society; and a Registered Supervisor for the Qualification in Occupational Psychology leading to Chartership.

Prior to working as a Senior Lecturer at UWE,
I was an Occupational Psychology Consultant, working with both public and private sector clients. I still continue consultancy work alongside working at UWE on a part-time basis.

Historically,
I have been involved in the British Psychological Society (BPS), having been the BPS South West Secretary and then CPD Officer, plus the Convenor for the Networking and Professional Development Working Group with the Division of Occupational Psychology.

Currently,
I teach occupational psychology to Psychology undergraduates in the Level I Psychology in Action module. I am also Module Leader for Psychology Undergraduates at Level III on the Psychology of Work, Business and Organisations. I am also Co-Leader of the MSc in Occupational Psychology, which is accredited by the British Psychological Society.

Area of expertise

My interests lie broadly in occupational psychology areas, which include, but are not limited to:

- Workplace stress

- Wellbeing at work

- Employee engagement

- Positive Psychology

- Career decision making

- Organisational learning and development

- Proactive behaviour and personality
