About me

I am a photographer and educator working from a studio base in Bristol. My teaching practice has spanned a broad range of curricula in both Further and Higher Education contexts and before taking up the role of Associate Director for Photography, I was the Programme Leader for the undergraduate BA Hons Photography programme at UWE.

My photographic practice builds from critical engagements with discourses of place and place-making. I work across analogue and digital technologies in the visual exploration of public and private spaces and contexts. I have a special interest in the materiality of the medium, with an emphasis on forms and function of the photobook.

I have exhibited nationally and internationally, with his work held in both public and private collections in the UK, and delivered papers on the contextual relationship between photography and museological spaces and practices.

I hold and undergraduate degree in Photography from the London College of Printing (now University of the Arts London) and a postgraduate degree in Masters by Project (Fine Art) from the University of the West of England.

Area of expertise

I am a member of the Bristol Photography Research Group.
