About me
I completed Master's Degree in Population Studies from TU Central Department of Population Studies. During 1998 and 2006, I had worked for several educational institutions, NGOs and the United Nations food aid organisation, WFP. In late 2006, I went to Aberdeen where I completed MSc in Public Health (2007). In 2009, I started injury prevention research in Nepal with a scholarship from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA). I also received funding support for my field research activities from the Violence and Prevention Department of the World Health Organization.
Between 2013 and 2016, as a post-doctoral researcher at UWE Bristol, I have developed a community-based model of child injury prevention in Nepal through the mobilisation of mothers’ groups in rural Nepal. July 2017 and September 2021, I worked as a Research Fellow at UWE Bristol (UK) for NIHR-Global Health Research Project in Nepal. Currently leading the Community Engagement and Involvement (CEI) theme of the NIHR-Funded SAFETrIP Nepal Project.
I am a self-motivated and passionate in developing sustainable injury prevention strategies and knowledge transfer between high and low-income country settings. I am a member of the networks of professionals in the fields of drowning prevention, road safety, child injury prevention and global health.
