About me
I have over 30 years experience in Early Childhood through both practical and theoretical perspectives. Having worked in Primary schools in the UK I travelled to Asia where I delivered Programmes of study in Early Years, Primary and Secondary schools and developed my passion for a child centered pedagogy and a strong inclusive practice . I developed, wrote and recorded English Language materials for the Singapore Curriculum.
Returning to the UK I ran an Outstanding Early Years Setting and worked as a Support Teacher for the local council, visiting and supporting over 20 Early Years settings.
At present I am an Associate Head of Department for Education and Early Childhood,(overseeing Degrees in Education, Early Childhood, Early Years Teacher Status, Education in Professional Practice) and teach across modules on the Early Childhood and Education in Professional Practice.
Area of expertise
My primary areas of interest are working with young children to support their exploration of the world. This inculdes the development of reasoning, outdoor learning and children's literature.
