About me

I currently work as the Director of Practice Learning within the School of Health and Social Wellbeing. I have over 12 years' experience of working as an Academic following a clinical career working as a Specialist Mental Health Practitioner in Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services. My current role focusses on our strategic partnerships with external partners to ensure we have sufficient placement capacity to deliver our programmes and meet the future needs of the workforce. This means working innovatively and efficiently to ensure we utilise placement capacity effectively and expand capacity through new ways of working and establishing new partnerships.

I oversee the quality of placement provision within the School and work closely with NHS-England to ensure placement experiences are excellent and to escalate areas of concerns appropriately and where necessary to relevant professional bodies. As part of my role, I work as a senior leader within the School of Health and Social Wellbeing, helping to set strategic direction for the school and implementing school wide plans as part of the senior leadership team. Lastly, I am a people manager within the School and support Academics with their personal development and academic careers.
