Area of expertise

Following a career as a multi-product designer and brand manager, supplying own label collections to independent stores, and retail branded clothing to multiples, Tracy gianed vast Industry experience and was responsible for overseeing each stage of the design cycle- from initiating concept and Design development, sourcing, and sampling, to sourcing new sampling and production opportunities overseas, through to product promotion and marketing of collections. At the peak, Tracy managed twelve collections per year across two labels, which included both men's and womenswear, as well as two additional ranges per season for mail order and retail branded clothing. This broad portfolio of skills and experience underpins Tracy's studio-based teaching at UWE which focuses on equipping students with the creative skills and professional understanding they need to embark on their own careers in the Industry. Tracy works closely with Students during the Design stages of their projects, ensuring they achieve a synthesis between all areas of their Design work. Tracy utilises her draughtsmanship skills in the studio to help students realise the potential of their design ideas and to further their understanding of garment construction.
