About me

I completed my BSc in Environmental Science at Plymouth University and have since worked in commercial and research labs for the last 9 years using a variety of wet chemistry techniques including LCMS, GCMS, ICP-OES and the IC. Throughout my time in research labs I was also out in the field maintaining a variety of field equipment for example calibrating pH meters and fluorescent probes and also programmed auto samplers to collect storm samples.

My masters by research (MScR) investigated the effects of photodegradation on dissolved organic matter in aquatic systems at end member sites. This required incubating filtered and unfiltered water from various catchments in a light box to investigate how the dissolved organic matter was being transformed via photodegradation alone compared to the combined effects of photo and biodegradation.
