About me

I am a Lecturer in Human Resource Management. I returned to academia back in 2016 after working in numerous generalist HR roles across Bristol and Bath.

In 2021, I completed my ESRC funded PhD (in Business and Management) with Cardiff Business school. I have two master's degrees in Human Resource Mangement and Social Science Research Methods, and a PGCERT in Teaching in Higher Education. I am an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

I am a recipient of a Professor Mick Marchington Applied Research Grant 2023. The grant is awarded to exceptional early career researchers in HR and related fields, and supports my current research examining the retention of nurses via individualised working arrangements.

Area of expertise

My research takes a critical lens to the employment relationship, motivated by my experiences as a HR practitioner. My PhD research specifically explores individualised employment arrangements (called "idiosyncratic deals") from the perspective of multiple relevant stakeholders (e.g., employees, line managers, co-workers and HR representatives).

I teach on a variety of HRM and general business management modules across undergraduate and postgraduate cohorts.
