About me

My PhD research, completed at Cardiff University and funded by the ESRC, was interdisciplinary between sociolinguistics and sociology. The research investigated the interplay between linguistic practices, linguistic representations, language ideologies and social inclusion between students at three related research sites in West-Wales.

My research interests remain in the field of sociolinguistics, including sociolinguistic theory, the sociolinguistics of Wales and interactional sociolinguistics. I also have a keen interest in linguistic ethnography.

I welcome applications from PhD candidates working in areas of sociolinguistics such as language and migration, multilingualism, and language ideologies.
