About me
Gordon Downie studied at three Russell Group institutions: he completed his undergraduate studies in music at York University and obtained his MA at Durham University. He then obtained his PhD in computer science from Cardiff University. This was followed by research at IRCAM Paris.
In addition to his role at UWE, he is an established composer, having completed significant commissions from international festivals and the BBC. The majority of Downie's music has been broadcast on BBC Radio 3.
