About me

Responsible leadership and management education; female participation in the workplace; menopause transition; degree apprenticeship teaching and learning.

I joined UWE in January 2020 after an earlier career with private and commercial providers of education, learning, and training. Helping other people develop has always been my passion, and I now have a series of responsibilities for that in a higher education context. In addition to the teaching and research carried out as Senior Lecturer in Organisation Studies, I am the Programme Leader for the BA (Hons) qualification in Leadership and Management Practice which is delivered as a Chartered Management Degree Apprenticeship. I also lead on -Ofsted accreditation for degree apprenticeships delivered by, and in conjunction with, Bristol Business School.

Area of expertise

I am a leading practitioner in the Business School for degree apprenticeship teaching and learning. This includes designing and redesigning modules and assessments to ensure learner expectations and quality assurance stay well aligned.

I am a passionate advocate for leadership and management education. This includes embracing the Principles for Responsible Management Education as we develop sustainable practices for the leaders and managers that come through our doors.

I am a committed researcher and much of this is focused on an awareness of female participation in the workplace. In particular, I am working to build knowledge and understanding around the menopause transition as a workplace issue.
