About me

I'm an artist with a critical interest in public space. I work in various media, including sculpture, film, text and performance, and have developed projects in unusual locations, including on the perimeter of a prison and inside a public planning inquiry.

So It Goes (Exeter Phoenix, 2016), for example, included a sculpture made of estate agents' business cards, a film about a walking tour, and the anonymous insertion of a number of small metal objects into the pavements of Exeter city centre.

Before taking up a role as Associate Head of Department with responsibility for art at UWE in 2017, I worked as Programme Director of an M.A. in contemporary art run by Christie's in association with The University of Glasgow. In the past, I've worked for a wide range of institutions including Tate Modern, Chelsea College of Arts, the ICA and Birkbeck College.

I've exhibited my work at, for example, Laura Bartlett Gallery (London), Chapter (Cardiff) and Cass Sculpture (Goodwood). I've published writings, including texts for University of Barcelona Press and Secession (Vienna) publications.

I hold degrees in History of Art (Courtauld Institute of Art) and Fine Art (Chelsea College of Arts). I completed my Ph.D. in Fine Art at Chelsea College of Arts in 2014.

I am an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. I teach on Fine Art programmes. I also support Partnerships for the School of Arts, with a special focus on Spike Island.
