About me

As Dean of Partnerships and International, my primary focus is the creation and realisation of international and partnership strategy for the College of Business and Law.  This involves working collaboratively to enhance global connections through cooperation with leading education institutions, maximising the benefits for communities across the globe, and ensuring that the College is supporting the development and success of businesses in the region and beyond.  I am responsible for maintaining our relationships with the College's local and TNE partners, the development of the Executive Education and CPD offer within the Business and Law Schools and facilitating relationships with industry to enhance the staff and student experience across the College.

Previously, I have held the position of Interim Dean of Bristol Business School and Head of the Business and Management Department.  I have a broad experience of programme development, delivering high quality learning and teaching and student experience and expertise in HE leadership and management.

My office hours are 9-10am on a Tuesday and 4-5pm on a Thursday.  I can be found in my office (6X264) or on Teams during this time.  Please do email for an appointment outside of these times.

Area of expertise

My research explores the relationship between identity performance and gendered organisational cultures and discourses.  My PhD thesis examined the impact of Neighbourhood Policing (NP) on police staff within the British Police service.  NP become an integral part of policing and has had a significant impact on the skills and competencies needed to police effectively. The research has highlighted the conflict between the 'softer' discourses of NP and the harder, more masculine discourses of 'real' police work.  My research seeks to highlight the complex processes that PCs and PCSOs engage in as they reconstruct meanings around policing practice and occupational identities.
