About me

Biography

I lecture in International Business. Prior to joining Bristol Business School in July 2019, I worked at Keele University, Sheffield Hallam University, University of the West of Scotland and University of Glasgow. I was also a Visiting Faculty at Grenoble Ecole de Management, France. I graduated from the Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland, and completed my PhD at the Centre for Contemporary European Studies at the University of the West of Scotland. I was a recipient of The Ryoichi Sasakawa Young Leaders Fellowship Fund (SYLFF) Research Grant.

I am a Fellow of Regional Studies Association, a member Academy of International Business, and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Research Activities

In my research, I focus on the relationships between international business strategies and operations and regional development theory and practice, particularly in the context of emerging and transition economies. I am interested in inward investment attraction and place marketing, sourcing and shoring strategies, large and small firms' internationalization and location motivations, and their impacts on regional development processes.

Results of my research have appeared as monographs, book chapters, reports and reviewed papers published in international journals including Advances in International Management and Entrepreneurial Business and Economics Review. I also regularly contribute to conferences and seminars, including RSA and AIB events.

I have supervised doctoral students working on projects exploring political economy of financial sector investments in Africa, contact centres management within the service science context, and application of psychoanalytical techniques in the strategy process.

I welcome PhD applications in topics related to firm internationalisation, investment attraction, place marketing, sourcing and shoring strategies in the service and manufacturing sectors. I am particularly interested to supervise projects comparative and international in their reach and scope.

Teaching

At Bristol Business School I teach undergraduate and postgraduate modules on international business environments, strategy and operations, as well as firm internationalisation.
