About me

​Research: my research focuses on organisational space, artefacts and identity. I have an expertise in qualitative research methods including innovative visual methodologies, specifically, participant-led photography. I have led research and consultancy projects with the Environment Agency, Bristol, the NHS North Bristol Trust, The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, London and a wide variety of Hair and Beauty Salons across the UK. My research has industry and academic impact and has been published in journals including Human Relations, Organizational Research Methods, Management Learning and the International Journal of Work, Organisation and Emotion.

My work is internationally recognised at the highest level, having won Paper of the Year 2015 in Human Relations.

Business Engagement: I am the Subject Business Associate in Organisation Studies in the Bristol Business Engagement Centre. I am the UWE Bristol Business School Liaison for The Small Business Charter http://smallbusinesscharter.org/

I work with a variety of organisations on partnership projects with economic, social and cultural impact including: ISG, Stride Treglown, and Work Wise UK: https://www.workwiseuk.org/ 

Teaching: in 2011 I was awarded the Learning and Teaching Fellowship at the University of the West of England for excellence and innovation in academic teaching and learning. In 2014 I achieved the status of Fellow of The Higher Education Academy. My teaching activities include postgraduate and undergraduate Module Leadership and Programme Leadership in the areas of leadership studies, self-leadership identity, creative interventions for change, and coaching and mentoring. My pedagogical approach encompasses reflective practice and the use of innovative visual methods and online technologies.
