About me

Peter's research encompasses organization development, international development, rural development, global health, leadership studies and organization theory & philosophy. For the past ten years Peter has acted as a programme management consultant for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) funded Malaria Elimination Initiative (MEI) based at the University of California San Francisco, advising on projects in the Africa and the Greater Mekong Sub-region. Most recently he co-led an organization development project for the MEI in Zimbabwe concerned with restructuring and improving HIV prevention services at national and subnational level funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Peter has extensive experience of leading rural development projects in SE Asia, including several initiatives in Lao PDR funded by the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research. Peter's research is geared toward 'making a difference' to the wellbeing of others and achieving impact beyond academia.

Peter has been a tutor for the London Business School EMBA core module ‘Business Ethics and Corporate Responsibility’ and has acted as an academic and personal coach to a number of senior executives in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors. He also has consultancy experience within the UK NHS and a variety of private sector organizations.

Peter is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Tropical Futures (SAGE) and serves on the following editorial boards: Leadership (SAGE), Culture & Organization (Taylor & Francis), the Journal of Leadership and Organizational Development (Emerald), and the Journal of Management, Spirituality and Religion (Routledge). He served as co-Editor-in-Chief of Culture & Organization 2007-10.He is a member of the following research centres and institutes: Bristol Leadership & Change Centre; Australian Institute of Tropical Health & Medicine; Cairns Institute; Centre for International Trade and Business in Asia.

Peter has expertise in the fields of organization studies, organziation theory, leadership studies, organization development, global health and development studies.
 
He is a fellow fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
