About me
I am a Senior Lecturer in Health Psychology and joined UWE in January 2025. Prior to this I worked as a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at the University of Hertfordshire where I also completed my PhD in 2020.
I completed a BSc (Hons) in Psychology at the University of Surrey. As part of this, I undertook a placement year where I worked on a twin study at the Institite of Psychiatry, King's College London. Following my Undergraduate degree, I completed an MSc in Health Psychology at King's College London. As part of the MSc, I completed a placement at King's College Hospital with a Clinical Psychologist in the Paediatric Sickle Cell and Thamassaemia Team. I completed a PhD in Health Psychology at the University of Hertfordshire, and my thesis explored non-adherence to immunosuppressants among adult Kidney Transplant recipients.
At UWE, I am the programme lead for the MSc Health Psychology, and module lead the Biopsychosocial Perspectives on Health module on the programme. I am also the module lead for the Undergraduate third year Health Psychology module. I also supervise Undergraduate and Postgraduate dissertation projects, and Doctoral students within my areas of expertise.
Area of expertise
I am interested in health-related research, including physical health and wellbeing, understanding and perceptions of health, and experiences of living with long-term health conditions. My research interests fall mainly within Qualitative research with a focus on Thematic Analysis, and Systematic reviews.
I am a member of the Psychological Sciences Research Group (PSRG).
