About me

 

Ahmed Hagras is a Senior Lecturer in Building Information Modelling (BIM) and co-programme leader of the MSc BIM at the College of Environment and Technology (CATE), Department of Architecture and the Built Environment at the University of the West of England (UWE). Ahmed holds a BSc in Civil Engineering from Egypt and an MSc in BIM from UWE. He is pursuing a PhD, investigating a Decision-Making Framework for Carbon Management and Material/Products Database. Since 2008, Ahmed has had professional experience as a structural engineer and BIM consultant/specialist. He has led and advised on mega projects across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Moreover, He has been involved in teaching and research since joining UWE in 2021.

Area of expertise

His expertise spans a wide range of areas including, but not limited to, Building Information Modelling and applications of digital twin, asset management, programming, visual programming, Carbon Management, Sustainability, LCA, Landscape Information Management, and computational/generative design.
