About me

I trained at UWE Bristol in 2012-2015 as a mature student and thoroughly enjoyed my experience, especially my 3rd year elective in New Zealand.  Once qualified, I worked in Bristol both in the hospital setting and mostly in community midwifery practice, supporting continuity of care and homebirths.  I began working at UWE in 2022 running the first module for year 1 students.  I am now in charge of the year 1 Practice module and supporting students as an Academic Professional Midwifery Advocate.  I also co-lead the Midwifery Electives for year 3 students and we are hoping to develop some online international opportunities in the future.  My passion for sustainability and all things environmental is also starting to feed into the midwifery programme, as we look to better incorporate the UN's Sustainable Development Goals throughout the curriculum.
