About me

Amanda Egbe is an artist, filmmaker, researcher, and senior lecturer in Media Production at the University of the West of England (UWE). Her research and practice focus on archives, digital technologies, the moving image, activism, and race. She has exhibited work nationally and internationally at festivals, conferences, and galleries.

She came to UWE via the University of Bedfordshire, where she was the course leader of the MA in Creative Digital Film Production. She module leads Screen Languages and Photography and Visual Culture on the Media Production degree.

Her current research projects include, Where Were You in 1992? and Where Do You Keep Your Black People? 

Amanda Egbe is an external examiner at Farnborough College of Technology and previously at Bournemouth University.

She is a former Trustee of the Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation and most recently a digital heritage consultant for the UnMuseum project at Black South West Network.
