About me

Amrit Banstola is a Research Associate at the University of the West of England based in the Centre for Academic Child Health. Amrit is involved in supporting health economics across all projects at the Nepal Injury Research Centre funded by National Institute for Health Research (NIHR), Department for Health. Amrit has a particular research interest in health economics aspects of injury prevention particularly economic impacts of injuries and on anticipated costs and expected future benefits of potential injury interventions as he intends to contribute to the economic evidence base to help inform decision-making processes in injury prevention. For example, cost-effectiveness analysis of interventions aimed at reducing road danger in the project site. In addition, Amrit provides support on reviewing policies and legislation and critically analyse whether the policies have considered costs and benefits.

Amrit is a reviewer for several international peer-reviewed journals, including the Lancet Global Health, the BMJ, European Journal of Public Health and SAGE Open among others. 

Amrit is a member of the International Health Economics Association (iHEA) and the UK Health Economists' Study Group (HESG). Amrit also holds an Honorary Research Associate Contract with the Centre for Academic Child Health (University of Bristol). Amrit is also a Global Burden of Disease Health Financing Collaborator, contributing to the longstanding and evolving health financing research at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME).
