About me
I began my teaching career in 2013 whilst still writing up my PhD on General Aviation accidents in the UK. Aviation safety is my main area of interest, with a focus on human factors and pilot training, and I have spoken at many events and conferences both here in the UK and internationally on these topics. Aviation management and operations are areas in which I have experience, both working (13 years in the air, on the ground and in management), and teaching (12 years).
A key issue in Higher Education I am very keen on is supporting students with their mental health and wellbeing.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my dog, Penny, who is a loveable diva! Aside from aviation, other interests include painting (badly!), photography, and all things paranormal.
Area of expertise
Aviation safety; aviation human factors; pilot training; airline and airport operations; airline and airport management
