Dr Andy Barnes

Andy Barnes is a specialist in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Engineering, with a research and development focus on low-resource and sustainable AI architectures. His work spans AI engineering, data engineering, and applied research, with particular expertise in the design and implementation of AI systems that deliver robust performance under constrained computational, memory, and energy requirements.

His research interests centre on the development of efficient and sustainable AI solutions, bridging the gap between theoretical innovation and practical application. He has extensive experience leading and contributing to projects across the full research and innovation lifecycle, from early-stage investigation and prototyping through to deployment and real-world implementation.
