About me

I am in the final stages of completing my PhD on community-led housing - (Re)interpreting community: an exploration of the meanings of community within the context of community-led housing in England. Currently working as a Research Associate on several projects based in the Sustainable Planning and Environments Centre at UWE:

Beyond statutory Reguirements: Inclusive Dialogue for Good Engagement (BRIDGE) - exploring what constitutes 'good practice' in stakeholder engagement for Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects.

What do we mean by community? Co-creating practical tools for planning practice - RTPI-funded Early Career Researcher project, building on the outputs of my PhD research to develop a toolkit for understanding and engaging with 'community' within the planning system.

Co-designing a community-led retrofit toolkit for 20th century conservation areas - IAA-AHRC funded project working with local residents across three conservation areas to develop resources that support community-led approaches to delivering zero-carbon neighbourhood scale retrofit.

Outside of UWE I have 25+ years of personal and professional experience in the community-led housing (CLH) sector and work as a CLH enabler, consultant, trainer/facilitator and business owner.

Area of expertise
