About me
I’m an economist with research interests in political economy, feminist economics, regional development, green industrial strategies, and the shifting dynamics between finance and production. I joined UWE Bristol in 2022 after fifteen years of teaching and research in higher education institutions in the United States.
My current research spans three areas:
-the gendered and intersectional dimensions of inequality in labour-market outcomes;
-comparative analyses of financial systems, institutional tools, and policy architectures for financing the green transition
-industrial strategy and firm-level dynamics in achieving sustainable regional development.
My current grants and collaborations include:
- The EU Horizon MSCA project on "Financing Green Transition" (2024-2028), involving researchers from 9 institutions across Turkey, Austria, Germany, and Belgium.
- The UWE team at the Brunel Centre, a new data and research hub where I work alongside colleagues from the University of Bath, UWE, and Futures West to support regional growth and industrial strategy (2025-2030)
I serve on the Management Committee of the Association of Heterodox Economics and present at conferences including AHE, IAFFE, and IIPPE.
Alongside my research, I am also a Programme Leader on the BA(Hons) Business Management and Economics degree at UWE.
Collaboration opportunities and student supervision are welcome in areas related to firm-level studies of investment and innovation, labour-market inequalities, green transition, and heterodox economic approaches.
