About me

I was appointed as a Lecturer in Occupational Psychology at UWE in September 2020 and became a Senior Lecturer in 2021. I am currently the Programme Lead for Business Psychology MSc and also teach on the MSc in Occupational Psychology, as well as teaching occupational psychology to undergraduate psychology students.

Before joining UWE, I was a PhD researcher at the Centre for the Study of Group Processes at the University of Kent. My research explored whether a pro-youth bias drove a preference for potential over performance in leadership recruitment and I gained my PhD in Social Psychology in 2021. I was also an Associate Lecturer in the School of Psychology, teaching on undergraduate and postgraduate psychology programmes. I gained my MSc in Social and Applied Psychology from the University of Kent in 2016.

Before this, I worked as a Business Consultant for Bailey & French, a consultancy specialising in workplace solutions founded on positive psychology research, covering areas including wellbeing, leadership, and performance.

I also spent over 15 years working in Learning and Development in Financial Services. I led an in-house learning and development team, developing and delivering training and coaching with a particuar focus on leadership and management.
