About me

After qualifying as a Social Worker in 2001 in Germany, I have moved to the UK in 2005 and spent the majority of my professional journey within statutory children's services, where I held posts in Child in Need, Child protection, Children in Care and Fostering and Adoption teams. In my last postition as a Senior Social Worker I took on the role of a Child Protection Conference Chair and Independent Reviewing Officer for Children in Care.

Following my PGCert in Practice Education & Training I transfered my skills and experiences into a Lecturer role at HEIs in Birmingham from 2019 to 2025 before being appointed as Senior Lecturer at UWE in February 2026.
