About me
I am a Senior Teaching Technician in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing within the School of Architecture and the Environment (SAAE). I work closely with students studying geography and environment, offering practical instruction and tailored support in the use of specialist software such as ArcGIS and using remote sensing techniques in environmental and spatial analysis.
I was awared my BSc (Hons) in May 2025, during which I produced a dissertation investigating the combined influence of the North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO) and the East Atlantic Pattern (EA) on precipitation variation across Spain using advanced GIS analysis. My dissertation was awared the Institute of Environmental Sciences (IES) Vice President's award for the Best Environmental Management Dissertation, and I am currently a nominee for the Royal Geographic Society (RGS) Alfred Steers Award.
Before my current position at UWE, I was actively supporting various research initiatives including the impacts of brownfield redevelopment, which I am still currently assisting with. I have also supported projects looking into Swedish house moves, and historical mapping of Shrewsbury, whilst also pursuing an opportunity to refine and publish my dissertation project.
Area of expertise
I specialize in the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software, specifically ArcGIS Pro (with QGIS experience) to perform remote sensing tasks, spatial analysis, and cartograpgic processes.
