About me

Charlotte is an Associate Head of Department in the Department of Social Sciences and senior lecturer in philosophy.  For more information on the philosophy BA programme at UWE please see: https://courses.uwe.ac.uk/V500/philosophy  Charlotte is also available to supervise PhD students in topics related to her areas of expertise below.

Having spent many years working on Schelling’s metaphysics of powers and freedom, Charlotte is now beginning to work on Eco-philosophy and environmental ethics, and on the productive contribution that philosophies of nature such as Schelling’s can make to contemporary thought in this area. When she is not thinking about Schelling, freedom, and nature, Charlotte likes to exercise her own freedom by being in nature, swimming in rivers and seas, eating and drinking delicious things, and dancing at any possible opportunity.

Charlotte is author of 'Schelling's Ontology of Powers' (Edinburgh University Press, 2021)
