About me

I am an applied statistician here at UWE.  My research projects are mainly collaborative in nature, primarily with environmental applications.

I have previously been programme leader for BSc Mathematics and Statistics and for MMath Mathematics.

Prior to coming to UWE in 2009, I completed my PhD in Trinity College Dublin, working on developing statistical methods for use in food authentication. I have also worked for a market research company. My undergraduate degree was in Mathematics, also from Trinity College Dublin.

Some of the modules that I currently teach on include Clustering and Classification (to final year mathematics undergraduates); Statistical Inference and Advanced Statistics to students on the MSc Data Science and MSc Artificial Intelligence programmes.

I am involved in the Royal Statistical Society, having served on Council and having been on the committee of the Emerging Applications Section for a number of years. I am also one of the RSS's Statistical Ambassadors.
