About me

Emma is a non-practising solicitor qualified in England and Wales.

She teaches on a variety of legal modules (with an emphasis on property law) in the Architecture and Built Environment Department.

Emma has recently completed a PhD funded by the International Water Security Network, studying the public right to fish and its impact on the management of English coastal fisheries. Emma's research interests include various aspects of marine property law, with a particular focus on public trust in the marine environment. She currently sits as a Marine Management Organisation appointed member of the Devon and Severn Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authority. 

Prior to her academic career, Emma spent 8 years in commercial practice as a solicitor with Burges Salmon LLP, advising clients on a wide range of real estate matters inlcuding landlord and tenant, corporate occupier, renewable energy and development.
