About me

Emma was in private practice as a Solicitor Advocate before joining the University; her specialism in practice was Criminal Law. Emma has extensive experience as a Senior Crown Prosecutor for the CPS and as a Criminal Defence Solicitor in the Youth, Magistrates and Crown Court. Emma has both defended and prosecuted criminal cases for over 19 years as both a litigator and advocate. Emma has 9 years of experience as a Higher Court Advocate defending in the Crown Court predominately on the Western Circuit.

At UWE, Emma teaches both on the Barrister's Training Course and the Solicitor's Traning Course,  professional law courses. In April 2025 Emma was appointed as the Programme Lead for the Barrister's Training Course. Emma is the Module Lead on the Solicitor's Training Course for Criminal Procedure, Criminal Litigation and the LLM Option Advanced Criminal Litigation.
