About me

Dr Emmanuel Esezobor is a senior lecturer and programme leader Real Estate Undergraduate, with expertise in Construction Management and Sustainability. Before joining UWE in August 2017, he has worked as Real Estate lecturer at London South Bank University and as visiting lecturer at Birmingham City University. Prior to pursuing his Master's degree in Project Management and PhD in Construction Management from the School of Built Environment, at Birmingham City University. He has worked in the industry for over 15 years, both as a real estate manager and as project manager in construction.

Emmanuel has worked on a number of projects including the EU-funded EDRF retrofit project of over 250 houses in West Midlands. He was the lead expert in the design of the carbon matrix to monitor and measure percentage reduction of energy usage and carbon emission of the project demonstrator's properties. His recent research focused on sustainability in construction management in Sub-Saharan Africa. It specifically looked at strategies to embed sustainability in construction practices of multinational companies operating in Nigeria.

Knowledge exchange is an important component of his work. In June 2015, he was the lead academic in an international Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP), funded by Climate-KIC. The project examined the key systemic challenges to energy management in commercial buildings, and developed a more suitable option to deal with the projected energy consumption in commercial buildings in Valencia, Spain.

Emmanuel is also the module leader for Strategic Estate Management and teaches on a number of modules including Commercial Property Appraisal and Real Estate Economics.

My teaching and research interest covers a broad range of subject areas including Real Estate, Construction Management and Sustainability.
