About me

I am a systems Neuroscientist with a strong background in molecular and cellular biology. I am focused on neural mechanisms which act during sleep. Humans spend more than a third of our entire life span sleeping, but our brains are very active even when we are unconscious. Neural processes during sleep are essential for writing and rewriting memories, efficiently encoding a complex model of the world, and for maintaining brain health. My research has primarily focused on the neural mechanisms that act during sleep to strengthen and reorganise memories, particularly those associated with movement planning and motor control.

Area of expertise

Systems Neuroscience. Molecular and cellular biology. Sleep. Neural mechanisms of learning and memory consolidation. Motor control. Computational biology and data science.
