About me
I am an HEA Senior Fellow and an Academic Member of CIPD. I am a Lecturer in Organizational Studies, I teach on a range of Level 1 and 3 modules, along with supervising research projects, industry placements and running modules for Apprentices. Before coming to UK, I have lived and worked in Bahrain and Pakistan where I had been a Programme Manager, a Team Leader and a Module Leader in public and private HE. I have also been a consultant for General Directorate of Qualification, Bahrain, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit-Pakistan, and for the Department of Professional Development, Government of Punjab, Pakistan.
My research work is around analysing the changing role of academics and higher education institutions. My doctoral thesis was about investigating University Industry Knowledge Exchange (UIKE) as part of HE academics' role and if it can serve the goals of professional development for academics. Incorporating perspectives from Human Resource Management and Teacher Training in HE, this study unpacked academics' professional practices and proposed a more holistic model for enhancing academics' participation in UIKE. For this project, I received CEO's Research Award Teaching and Learning-2022.
