About me
I joined the School of Social Sciences as a Lecturer in Psychology in 2025. My academic journey began with a BSc in Psychology at the University of Bristol, followed by an MSc in Development, Disorders, and Clinical Practice at the University of York. I then completed a PhD at the University of Reading, investigating emotion processing in autism across nonverbal communicative domains. Following my PhD, I worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Bath, contributing to projects exploring pathological demand avoidance in autism and the use of online methodologies in autism research.
My research centres on autism across the lifespan, with particular focus on social cognition, life outcomes, and its overlap with other neurodiverse constructs such as ADHD, pathological demand avoidance, congenital amusia, and maladaptive daydreaming. I also explore the effectiveness of measurement approaches, including standardised trait measures and online methodologies, to advance the study of autism and neurodiversity. My work employs experimental designs, survey-based methods, data synthesis techniques, and open science practices.
