About me

About me

Gillian is an artist who uses printmaking methods in her work. Specialising in intaglio methods, her work explores the tactile nature of etching by deeply biting plates to emboss the paper's surface and uses dark velvety aquatints printed onto fine japanese papers.

She graduated from UWE in 2013 with a Masters in Multidisciplinary Printmaking. After graduating, Gillian applied for the Graduate Technical Internship in the UWE Print Centre. As part of this role, Gillian was given a bursary to put towards a learning development course of her choosing. As she had a keen interest in editioning, she used the bursary to do a summer course at the renowned Fine Art publishing studio, Crown Point Press, in San Francisco.

Gillian continues to work two days a week at UWE as a Senior Technical Instructor in the etching area.
