About me

I completed my Mental Health Nurse training at Kings College London in 2005 and worked in various clinical roles for South London and Maudsley NHS Trust. My main roles and expertise have been within CAMHS inpatient and Crisis Services.

Leaving London, I moved to Gloucestershire and joined an education department for a large NHS Trust. My role was facilitating and creating both mandatory and bespoke training for all trust staff, specialising in risk assessment and management. This is where I found my passion for education and I completed my PGCAP - Teaching Qualification.

I joined UWE in March 2022 as a Senior Lecturer in Mental Health Nursing, during this time I have completed MA in Education at the University of Gloucestershire and undertaken a variety of roles such as: External Examiner for Kingston University and Queens University Belfast. I am also the Admissions Lead for BSc (Hons) Mental Health Nursing Programme.

As well as supporting and leading on teaching at UWE, I am very privileged to support our international partnerships, as I module lead and deliver teaching on a Mental Health Module for Hainan Medical University (HMU).

In October 2026 I hope to start my journey to become a registered Relational Play and Creative Therapist for Children and Young People.

Where I will be working with children and young people aged 4 -18, using play and creative media to support an understanding of their emotional needs

As well as my NMC registration, I will also be registered under the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)  as a trainee practitioner.
