About me

I undertook my initial general nursing program at Charing Cross Hospital London in 1980. Specialising in intensive care nursing / cardiology, I had a number of staff nurse / charge nurse posts before entering the world of education. Joining UWE in 1996 (from the then Avon and Gloucestershire College of Health when it was amalgamated into the organisation), I have held a number of roles including Associate Head of School (Adult Nursing), Curriculum Manager, Academic Site Lead (Gloucester), Faculty Lead for Interprofessional Education and Program Leader for Adult Nursing.

Apart from the usual nursing and teaching qualifications my academic qualifications include a Masters Degree in Health Care Ethics and Law from The University of Swansea and a Professional Doctorate in Education (UWE).

My areas of interest / expertise include pain management and interprofessional education and collaborative approaches to care.

I am married to Dori (who is a nurse based in clinical practice) and we have three grown up children.
