About me

James began his career training at a law firm in London and practised as a solicitor at a commercial law firm in Bristol specialising in pensions. James teaches undergraduate students on the Equity and Trusts module on the LLB Law degree and postgraduates on the Business Law and Practice, Drafting and Commercial Law modules on the LLM Advance Legal Practice Course (LPC). James is the Business and Law Clinic departmental lead, and supervises student led legal advice in the Business Advice Clinic.

Area of expertise

James completed PhD research considering the role of the European Union in Occupational Pensions in the UK. His current research interests cover fiduciary duties, governance and regulation, particularly in the context of pensions law and policy, from both commercial and social perspectives. James is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a member of the Society of Legal Scholars and the European Network for Research on Supplementary Pensions.
