About me

James began his career training at a law firm in London and practised as a solictor at a commercial law firm in Bristol.  James is part of the teaching teams on the undergraduate LLB  Law degree, the Legal Practice Course and the Graduate Diploma in Law.

James also supervises the Commercial pro bono team as part of the UWE Business and Law Clinic.

James completed PhD research considering the role of the European Union in Occupational Pensions in the UK.   His curent research interests cover fiducary duties, governance and regulation, particularly in the context of pensions law and policy, from both commercial and social perspectives.  

James is a Fellow of the Higher Eduction Academy and a member of the Society of Legal Scholars and the European Network for Research on Supplementary Pensions. 

Area of expertise

James teaches Business Law and Practice, and is the Module Leader for Drafting Skills and Commercial Law on the Legal Practice Course.  


James also teaches Equity and Trusts Law on the undergraduate LLB Law degree and European Union Law and Equity and Trusts Law on the Grauduate Diploma in Law course.
