About me

I am an AHRC funded PhD student at UWE Bristol and the University of Bristol. My teaching experience includes Cultural Studies, Film Studies, Film Production, Screen Industry Studies and Documentary Studies from undergraduate to postgraduate taught levels.

My current research involves industry collaboration and co-creation filmmaking. By considering inclusion and extraction in international documentaries about ‘nature’ it seeks to enhance understandings of sustainable and inclusive filmmaking.

Other research projects include: No California (2021), a co-created documentary on regional (coastal) creative exclusion in the UK screen sector; and Mascota (2022), a collaborative short film for the Transforming Voices research project about women’s organisational vulnerability in the Mexico-US borderlands.

Research group membership includes the Digital Cultures Research Centre DCRC, Visual and Material Practices Research Group (VAMP) and Bristol’s Centre for Environmental Humanities.

Wider academic experience includes conference organisation, community development and communications.
