About me
Dr Jennie Ferrell is an Associate Head of Departement of Social Sciences for Psychology and coordinator for the Departement of Social Sciences Sandwich Year. Prior to working at UWE she has worked at London Metropolitan University and the University of Bedfordshire as well as originally moving to the UK in 2004 for a post-doctoral research position at the University of Kent.
Jennie's background is in the area of the development of social cognition and has studied areas such as risk estimation emotional understanding subjective group dynamics and social cognition from a developmental perspective. Recently she has been working in the areas of intergenerational contact, parasocial relationships, neurodiversity, as well as student community and engagement. Jennie is part of the Psychological Sciences Research Group (PSRG).
Jennie's teaching specialisms are in developmental and cognitive psychology and uses both quantitative and qualitative methods in research.
