Mentor for Built Environment colleagues in a cluster of 25 academics.
Organiser of the International Festival of Surveying, providing teaching/learning for undergratuate and postgraduate students in the disciplines of construction. Leading text book author and researcher.
Past programme leader for BSc Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management and MSc International Construction Law.
Funded researcher for projects for International Property Fund, Confederation of Specialist Contractors.
PhD supervisor, tutees subjects in Conceptual Framework for BIM and dispute avoidance software.
Area of expertise
Construction contracts, law and ethics.
My research interests have coalesced around the techno-socio-legal aspects of construction law. Foremost this is about smart contracts and new directions for the legal approach to defining construction law.
I am currently the external examiner for MSc Construction Law and Dispute Resolution for King's College London.
Module leading responsibility for Professional Practice in the Built Environment - a key skills based course featuring employability and industry liasion across the South West.
Invited visits and collaborations at Universities in Melbourne, California, Cape Town, New Dehli, (amongst others).
