About me

Jon Tucker is Emeritus Professor in Finance at UWE, a specialist textbook author, a researcher in finance and accounting, and an Independent Academic Consultant who now lives with his family in the Apuseni mountains in Romania. During his academic career, he held the position of Professor of Finance and Accounting at the Centre for Financial and Corporate Integrity (CFCI) at Coventry University, Professor of Finance and Director of the Centre for Global Finance at UWE, Senior Lecturer in Finance at Exeter University, and academic posts at other UK universities. Jon is a Visiting Professor in Finance and Accounting at Coventry University, a Visiting Professor in Finance at Işık University (Turkey), and a Visiting Professor in Finance at the Universitatea Babeş-Bolyai in Cluj-Napoca (Romania).

 

Area of expertise

The focus of his academic research is finance and market-based accounting where he has published papers in the quality international journals over three decades, and he also writes papers in the pure finance and accounting disciplines. His most recent research projects relate to intellectual property accounting, pensions accounting and finance, corporate financial disclosure, earnings management, and the role of the CFO. He is the co-editor of the 2017 Routledge text, "The Financial Crisis and White-Collar Crime – Legislative and Policy Responses". Jon has worked in accounting for KPMG and banking for NatWest and works as an occasional financial consultant.
