About me

I support the arts and humanities researchers at UWE Bristol develop non-academic impact from their research, this could be cultural, societal, or economic impact. I sit within the Innovation and Impact Team, whose purpose is to connect knowledge with those who can use it, ensuring UWE research drives meaningful change.

I run the university's Impact Acceleration Account from the Arts and Humanities Research Council. This is a c. £600k pot of funding to help our researchers develop non-academic impact from their research. The funding is used to support, strengthen and deepen engagement with non-academic partners  (such as third sector organisations, businesses and policy makers).

I joined UWE in 2018, working for the Digital Cultures Research Centre, based in the Pervasive Media Studio, Watershed. During this role I worked on some large-scale research projects such as Bristol + Bath Creative R+D and the South West Creative Technology Network

My background is in the contemporary arts, having studied History of Modern and Contemporary Art at Manchester University and going on to study for a Masters in European Urban Cultures at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). I co-ran the independent gallery, Antlers from 2010-14, producing exhibitions in dis-used spaces across Bristol and London, as well as working on commissions, partnership projects and artist development. Following that, I was Assistant Curator at Spike Island, working on an international programme of exhibitions and events.

I am passionate about local community action, and outside UWE I am a trustee for the arts charity Bricks as well as Chair of Friends of St Anne's Park, where I produce nature and community projects.
